PORTRAYAL.
- i am caught up on s1, s2, 0 and the manga but being relatively new to this piece of media there could be things i missed out. please be patient with me and as long as you do it with kindness, absolutely correct me if i get something wrong! on the same note most of nitta's story is not told directly to us, which means some of what you'll read here is actually weaved in with what we know by me. please don't lift my headcanons and portrayal notes.
- i'm gonna add this as a portrayal note since it's been very vague canon wise. according to a question asked to gege, nitta is older than ino but younger than gojo, shoko & co. i've placed her at 25/26 during jjk0 and 26/27 during the main story.
- nitta is an older sister and the eldest daughter, so she's bound to be a little nagging from time to time especially to the students. please don't take this in a bad light, she generally means well and is trying her best to keep them alive within her realm of abilities. that being said, if you're muse needs an older sister figure, they've found her! they need a somewhat parental figure, they've found her! pick your poison.
- some of the themes you might see here are related to: street violence, addiction, casual relationships, and general jjk themes like religion, violence and gore, death, physical assault.
- last but least, i gave nitta a cursed technique that leans heavily on psychometry. in no way this means that she will know things about your muse by default, and i will actually come talk to you in advance about it to plot in the case her abilities should be necessary for our thread!
- while i take inspo from the main source and japanese folklore, i also use western media like btvs, spn, tma.SHIPPING.
- there might be some confusion in fandom but let me be very clear about one thing: nitta is an adult. please do not follow if you ship her with any of the students. in the same fashion, i won't tolerate any shipping ideas suggested to me about nitta and haruta shigemo. he assaulted her, and she lives with that trauma.
- you may find sexual content on this blog in the form of gifs, pictures or headcanons but will always be tagged and put under a read more when possible.

STUDYING IN KYOTO.
- her hair used to be longer. darker too, as mousy blonde is actually her natural hair color and only started dying it lighter toward the end of third year.
- she was a teenager around the time that tumblr was at its peak, so you know the drill. dr martins, leggings with universe stamp and oversized band shirts were the must whenever she wouldn't wear her uniform.
- her mom put her through piano lessons, but her plus the other two classmates had a band and she played the guitar. she attempted to learn bass as well but then her friends died and she just sort of gave up about normalcy.
- she's had a few boyfriends throughout third and fourth year but they never stayed long, claiming she's "got a temper". she never liked them that much to begin with, but that was absolutely due to them turning out to be jerks.
- she was the head of kyoto tech book club during second year ( embarrassing if you ask her ) and the reason why it lasted so short was that she would always pick mystery oriented type of books. everybody was over it after the fourth book, she got kicked out.
- most competitive student every year at the goodwill event, absolutely whacked someone on the head to win ( though there's still a rumour going on that she lost on purpose once, it's never been confirmed or denied )
- back on the topic of her classmates, by fourth year akari was the only student left in her class.
- upon graduation, her grade was stable at semi 2. never really seeked a promotion in the following years.

YOUNG ADULTHOOD.
- after graduating she went back to new york to study psychology since most of her family is there. she did come more "reformed" compared to when her parents sent her to kyoto, but then again in four years she's gained so so much trauma.
- people from her high school class are no longer alive, but she keeps in touch with various students she befriended throughout the years via social media.
- for a while she spends more time as a "regular girl" than doing anything jujutsu related. it feels weird, her mom eventually urges her to start taking some work so she ends up looking into unsolved cases and tries to solve them.
- being away from kyoto doesn't feel right. all the students who don't wind up dead while learning eventually remain metaphorically rooted in the school grounds one way or another - cutting those roots so abruptly feels wrong. she comes back to japan after graduating, essentially doing the same thing she was doing in the us, except that it's not as praised due to her methods.
- she always stays in her lane. is very talkative with her friends from kyoto but her competitive side still gets the best when it comes to former students from tokyo. she's worked on cases with some of them, is very aware that they're capable and reliable, but that's it.
- the missing people undercover mission was in co-op with the police, hence why keeping a low profile would have been more adviced despite the department being aware of sorcerers. her task was basically to touch around stuff, figure out where the curse was hiding and what was creating it, then exorcise it.
- on paper it was easy enough if not for the fact that the fight club situation, which throw everyone out of the loop since according to previous investigations the place was empty. thing is, the club was very far from what we're used to see with kinji's club for instance - various prominent crime rings vere involved in the gambling, curses were trapped and used in fights ... anarchy wouldn't even begin to explain what was going on underneath there.
- the lowest level, most exclusive, was only reachable via an elevator that would lead to a dimly foyer, obsidian doors with neon lights and a symbol she's never seen before. only way to enter was either being a man in power, an escort, or a fighter.
- she doesn't regret breaking the law for the sake of furthering her investigation. she knows her heart was in the right place, it's the system that's so fucking rigged. genuinely believed that gakuganji would have vetoed the decision of the higher ups to punish her since he's known her for years and knows she's not a bad person. still she accepts her punishment rather gracefully despite circumstances.
- she's been in the higher ups' room twice. once for her "trial", and last to assest the property damage after gojo's conversation with them ... so to speak. the youngest of them had that same symbol from the club tattooed on their inner wrist, which to her is a dead give away that back then she was snooping around too much instead of sticking to the mission.
- she still doesn't know what the symbol means. everybody involved in the "surface level" fight club was either arrested or sentenced to death depending on their crimes, a possible person of interest was more than dead. in true detective fashion it's the thing that still rattles her brain even after so long.

WORKING IN TOKYO.

POST CANON VERSE ( huge wip )- her leg remains with a little bit of a limp. she's mad about it for a while but gets over it eventually, since you know, it could have been worse
- with the higher ups gone, akari's fully pardoned and allowed to work on the field again as a sorcerer. despite that she's still assistant director, splitting duties with ijichi so that he never gets too overworked like in the past
- she gets kusakabe to teach her more about nss since what happened in shibuya left her highly traumatised and also made her realise that she might be good at street brawls with non sorcerers, but in a jujutsu fight she's basically helpless. they train after her shift ( and sometimes miwa joins in, which is how akari gets another jujutsu little sister in the deal along with nobara )
- at some point her beloved grandpa nitta passes away of old age, with her dad stepping up as clan leader. while akari is deeply saddened by this she's also glad her grandpa got to see those stuck up old farts go to hell ( since they were terrible to him in high school and always vetoed his request to get on the school board ). it's quite a busy time for a while as the clan attempts to open up more now compared to their reputation of being hermits
- she eventually enrolls into university in tokyo to study psychology like her mom wanted, but akari adds her own spin getting a license to work as youth counselor, thinking she might be a better help to the new generations this way along with her jujutsu related work. she volunteers at various juvenile training schools.
- her infamous jacket full of patches makes a comeback since she's not obligated to wear the manager's suit every day. 10/10 always stylish, the handle of her katana and combat knives match in color. round sunglasses always on. she keeps her hair blonde / almost platinum for a while to keep her signature aesthetic.
- she might have or might not have found love yet ( that's up to plotting ) but she's definitely more opened to the idea than she was years prior

DEFECTION / CURSE USER VERSE ( wip )- her past is still the same - she's a little bit of a delinquent, uses her psychometry based abilities to look cool in front of her friends. her parents still send her to kyoto in hope she gets her act together, but the more time akari spends among jujutsu society the more she gets adverse to its traditions and way of thinking
- she's very very disliked by the higher ups, not only because some of them already have a bit of historical beef with the nitta clan's philosophy as a whole, but because on her mother's side they're essentially curse users from another country who play nice because they'd like a spot in japanese jujutsu society
- akari's training in kyoto was terrible. her combat skills solely rely on her experience as a delinquent because since day one it was already chosen for her that she would have been more useful as a manager after graduating. not only it leaves with a bitter aftertaste but also makes her hatred grow
- the fourth year mission still happens, akari still loses some of her classmates and gets blamed by gakuganji for not being helpful in guiding the mission ( despite the fact that neither of them was prepared for a special grade curse ). she ends up dropping out much to her parents' disappointment, disappears for a while, according to some she's presumed dead due to rumors about her bad drug habits
- she is definitely not dead, for practical reasons, she gets interested into nss around this time rather than her main verse where she learns more about it after shibuya. her main weapons are still the combat knives, but she also carries a katana. she doesn't outright cause chaos, simply decides to exorcise curses in her own way rather than follow the higher ups' orders
- i don't think she would join geto because she doesn't fully agree with his view, though she understands where he comes from. she's mostly neutral about his activities honestly, her main goal is taking down the system that puts such heavy burdens on students - however, she is driven by selfish reasons which would be making sure nothing of what happened to her ever happens to arata. everything she does is always for her brother, though she doesn't expect him to understand
- ( depending on plotting, akari might be willing to bend the knee and apologize, enter back into society as a reformed sorcerer and continue her plan from within school grounds )
